AMIE is a multifaceted professional with a rich history in coaching, mentoring, and teaching. With over a decade of experience in sports and education, AMIE has made significant contributions to the development of young athletes and students.
Work Experience: AMIE served as a Middle School Teacher at Pietersburg – East School from 2008 to 2021 and took on the role of School Athletics/Sport Director from 2016 to 2021. During this period, AMIE also worked as a life coach and mentor, guiding individuals towards personal and professional growth. As the Secretary of the State Schools Cricket Union (2013-2019) and Vice Chairman of Aces Cricket Club (2018-2020), AMIE demonstrated exceptional leadership and organizational skills. Additionally, AMIE chaired the Limpopo Impala Cricket Coaches Forum in 2017 and served as a Church Pastor from 2021 to 2022. As a Talent Scout for College Sports America (2018-2020), AMIE identified and nurtured emerging cricket talents.
Coaching Experience: AMIE's coaching career spans from grassroots to high-performance levels. As a School Mini Cricket Coach from 2005 to 2022 and a coach for school teams ranging from U/9 to U/19, AMIE has developed comprehensive coaching strategies tailored to different age groups. AMIE served as the Head Coach for Girls U/19 Schools Cricket in 2009 and coached at private academies, including one-on-one high-performance sessions for players aged 13 to 19. As a Player Coach at Aces Cricket Club (2018-2021) and a Coaching Consultant for Limpopo Impala Cricket Union (2017-2019), AMIE specialized in skill enhancement and performance improvement. AMIE also held head coaching positions for Provincial/State teams, including the U/13 Boys team under Cricket South Africa (2016-2019), U/12 Boys (2014-2015), and U/11 Boys (2013).
In addition to cricket, AMIE coached U/13 Boys Rugby (2008-2021), served as a Track and Field High Performance Coach (2009-2014), and worked as a Strength and Conditioning Coach (2012-2021). AMIE also contributed as a life coach (2020-2022), rugby referee (2012-2021), and marriage course facilitator (2018-2021).
Playing Experience: AMIE's playing career includes representing the Limpopo Impalas Men's senior cricket team in the Semi-Professional League (2015-2016) and playing as a batting allrounder for Aces Cricket Club (2014-2021). AMIE also represented provincial/state cricket teams at various youth levels, including U/13, U/15, U/17, and U/19, and captained the school cricket team from 1999 to 2003.
Leadership Experience: AMIE has held numerous leadership roles, such as Middle School Head Boy (2002), High School Deputy Head Boy (2007), Grade Leader (2003-2006), and Head of Department for Athletics at Pietersburg East Middle School (2016-2021). AMIE also served as the Secretary of the Provincial Board of Sports (2012-2018), School Subject Head for Physical Education, Business Science, and Life Science (2016-2021), and Young Adult Church Leader (2016-2022). AMIE was the Chairman of the Limpopo Impala Cricket Union Coaches Forum, showcasing a commitment to fostering a supportive and developmental environment for coaches and players alike.
Education: AMIE holds a Bachelor's degree in Education from the University of South Africa (2013), a certification in Sport and Anatomy from the University of Potchefstroom (2007), a degree in Sports Management from the University of South Africa (2016), and a certification in Sport Coaching Methodology from the United States Sports Academy (2020). AMIE is also a certified Level 3 Cricket South Africa coach (2016) and has completed additional training in anti-doping, child protection, leadership, and high-performance coaching.
